FAQ

How will the pictures be delivered?

I use an online photo gallery delivery service called PicTime. I will email you the gallery and a pin code that you can use to download the photos onto your desktop or phone. You can also send this gallery to friends and family who want to see your photos!

How do payments work?

For engagement shoots, 50% retainer is required when you book to secure your spot. The remaining 50% will be due 1 month before the shoot. For weddings, a $500 deposit is required to secure your wedding date. The rest will then be due 1 month before the big day. I will send you invoices and reminders of when the payments are due in case you need a reminder.

What is your turn around time for photo delivery?

For engagement photos, it will take 2-3 weeks. Weddings require more time for me to edit and you will receive them back in 6-8 weeks.

How many images delivered are in a gallery?

I do not have a set number of images I deliver in each gallery. It depends on the shoot length and wedding hour coverage.

Do you include a second shooter?

For larger weddings (150 + people), I include a second shooter in my packages as a part of the cost.

However, for smaller intimate weddings or elopements, the extra hand is usually not necessary.

Should we do a first look?

Personally, I cannot be the one to tell you yes or no. This totally depends on you guys as a couple and what YOU want to do. But here are some pros to each.

Doing a first look really provides you with time before the ceremony to just be alone together and breathe. There aren’t many moments you get together as a couple by yourself on your wedding day. A first look is a special time for you guys. It can help you feel less nervous and overall just more excited to get married.

On the other hand, if you really want your groom to be surprised and have the first look of you when you go down the aisle, then by all means do it.

Both are special in their own way!

What happens if there is bad weather during our shoot or on our wedding day?

Personally, I believe in embracing crazy weather and making the most out of it. It will give you unique photographs to look back upon. However, if it is really bad out and we can’t get good photographs (or it would risk ruining my gear), then I can try to reschedule the shoot.

What happens if you can’t make it on our wedding day?

I can promise you that I will do everything in my power to be at your wedding day and that the only time I would not be able to make it is in case of an extreme circumstance that was out of my control (such as natural disaster, death, horrible illness… etc) . If this were to happen, I would try my best to find you another photographer with a similar style. In this case, if I couldn’t make it, all of your money would be refunded.

Do you photoshop images or can you photoshop X?

Aside from adjusting things like exposure, contrast, temperature, etc… I do not believe in altering images or people to look a certain way. My style of photography is natural and I want it to be a truthful representation of you and your story. I will use photoshop only to remove distracting objects from backgrounds.

If you want a certain image in B&W that I did not provide you with in the gallery, I would be happy to send that your way.

Do you travel for wedding/engagement photos?

YES! Traveling is one of my biggest passions and I am more than happy to come to you or meet up somewhere and explore a new place.

How do you charge for travel expenses?

Since the cost of traveling is so dependent on where you go, I do not have set rates. I will have you cover the essentials (flight, transportation, and stay) and then I will cover the rest.

If you are looking to save some money, I am okay with staying with you, your family, or sharing an airbnb. I’m also more than okay with getting picked up and dropped off at the airport instead of having to pay for a rental car or Uber.

For booking, I will book my flights and transportation on my own. I will then get your confirmation on logistics and price before I book anything else to make sure the cost doesn’t come as a surprise to you. After I book everything, the payment is due within a week of receiving the invoice.

You can estimate cost by checking out how much hotel/airbnbs cost in the area you are staying, looking up roundtrip flights from Chicago, and seeing what the most cost effective mode of transportation from the airport to where we are staying is.
